We're excited to announce the first class of 2022, Classic & Current Trends: Foundation, Confidence & Creativity with Liam Carey.

Foundation

As part of Liam’s continuing haircutting series, Shear Education, Classic & Current Trends is a class focusing on classic and modern haircutting styles and foundations.

Confidence

This is a hands-on class with a strong focus on: sectioning, combing, head position, body position and much more. In this class, you will not only learn how to execute and improve some popular classic techniques, but also build a strong foundation, gain more confidence overall.

Creativity

There will be 3 different haircuts demoed in the first part of the class with hands on moments.  The three haircuts that will be demoed are: long layers, bob with bangs and women's short haircut.

For the second part of class, each student will choose one haircut from the demo they would like to do on their doll head. 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Liam Carey, &BEAUTY CEO / Instructor

Upon graduating from beauty school in San Francisco, Liam wanted the best in continuing his education and in finding the right salon environment to do that, so he began his career at Cinta Salon.   It was there where he zeroed in on his strengths and found his focus to be in precision haircutting. Liam took the time to build a solid foundation, and after two years of assisting and mastering haircuts at Cinta, he was ready to go out on the salon floor.

His dedication and the time he took allowed him to develop his strong sense in style and confidence, so that when he felt ready, he would bring it all with him to NYC.

After crossing coasts and arriving in New York, Liam found that he loved educating others and quickly became the director of education for Ted Gibson Salon’s cutting department. It was during the next few years there, that he was able to develop, educate and work closely with new stylists as they grew into their own careers and came to be known as some of New York’s most talented.
